LOL i sound pretty stupid i know but i pused a game and now i cant un pause it? I have saved it and then reloaded the game that i was in the middle of but it is still paused when it re loads and i still cant figure out how to unpause...

Many games has the "P" key as the pause button. So try and press "P" in the game. Or if it doesn't work press the "pause" key of your keyboard, that is usually the default pause button on games. Perhaps you can go to the options menu and adjust the game speed.
I have played civ4 but I never pause the game so I can't help you any further.
